Katie Brennan, central figure in Phil Murphy scandal, kicks off run for Assembly
Katie Brennan is a first-time candidate for public office. But she has been a public figure in New Jersey since the fall of 2018, when she told the Wall Street Journal she had been sexually assaulted by a senior official on Murphy’s first campaign for governor in 2017 when she was a volunteer.
I’m running to fight for affordable housing, reliable transit, fully funded schools, and a government that works for all of us,” Brennan said before a rally Thursday night at a Ed&Mary’s, a bar in Jersey City. “I love this community — its energy, its resilience, and the way we all look out for one another.”
