18 honored during Jersey City's annual Women of Action awards
Jersey City kicked off Women's History Month with a special ceremony honoring 18 of the city's female community leaders at City Hall.
The annual Women of Action awards ceremony, held March 1 in the Council Chambers, paid special tribute to the women for their varied contributions to the community.
Katie Brennan
Nominated by Council President Rolando Lavarro Jr., Katie Brennan serves as the chief of staff at the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency. She previously served as the program director of affordable housing for Hudson County, directing affordable housing production, foreclosure prevention, fair housing, and lead-based paint hazard programs.
She also serves as the chapter director of New Leaders Council New Jersey, which seeks to recruit, train, and promote the next generation of progressive leadership. Additionally, Brennan is a Jersey City committee person and Van Vorst Park Association board member.
